Frequently Asked Questions

Timing

Q: Where do your Seattle wine tours pick up and depart?
A: Our coaches pick guests up anywhere in Seattle, or the greater Puget Sound region at their choice of location. Offices, hotels or personal residences are all acceptable pick up and drop off locations.

Q: What time does my tour start?
A: Because all of our tours are private, we can start at a time that best suits you.  Most wineries open around noon.

Q: I’m short on time and would like to do a wine tasting in Seattle. Is that possible with Barrel Wine Tours?
A: If Seattle wine tasting is what you’d like to do, we can plan that for you as well.

The Details

Q: I know wine pretty well. Will this feel too touristy or basic for me?
A: Not at all. We’re wine snobs ourselves, in the best possible way. Our superpower is matching our clients with the wineries, wines, and experiences that fit their taste. We don’t use a one-size-fits-all route. Before your tour, we’ll have a conversation with you to learn what you love to drink, what you’re curious about, and what kind of experience you want, then build the itinerary around that. Some of our best experiences are with seasoned wine connoisseurs who want help deciphering who’s who in Washington wine and where they should spend their time.

Q: What about food?
A: Absolutely. Food can be as simple or as elaborate as you’d like. We can arrange charcuterie, winery lunches, chef-prepared meals, or plated multi-course dinners and build the timing around your tour.

Q: What wineries are we going to?
A: That depends on you. We work with a wide range of winery partners, but we don’t build every tour from the same list. Your itinerary is based on what you like to drink, what you want to learn, the kind of experience you’re looking for.

Q: Do you plan corporate outings?
A:  Yes!  In fact, one of our favorite things to do is take the stress out of planning so you can relax and take all the credit. We plan private events, celebrations, company outings, and client entertainment –  with or without transportation. We can coordinate the food, wine, venues, transportation when needed, and the overall flow of the experience so everything feels seamless rather than pieced together.

Costs

Q: Are tasting fees included?
A: Yes. Our standard Woodinville tours include transportation, three winery tasting fees, and, for groups of 6 or more, a knowledgeable wine-industry guide. Premium tastings, food, extended tour time, or specialty experiences may be quoted separately.

Q: How much do your tours cost?
A: Our standard Woodinville tours are $199 per person Monday through Thursday and $219 per person Friday through Sunday, plus applicable sales tax and a 20% service charge. That pricing is based on a 4-hour door-to-door private tour and includes transportation with a professional driver, tastings at three wineries, and, for groups of 6 or more, a wine-industry guide. Seattle pickup, extended tour time, premium tastings, food, or smaller group sizes may affect the final price.
