Well. This isn’t what we hoped Woodinville Wine Tours would be like in December. As we all pivot once again, tasting rooms have moved guests outside and have had to reduce capacity again. For those of you who do not want to enjoy outdoor wine tasting in 45° rain, we hope you’ll still consider supporting these small local wineries by buying wine online or via curbside pick-up. Many wineries in Woodinville are offering curbside pickup or free shipping. Below is a list of a few of our favorites and what they are offering:
Deals Being Offered
City Limits – Tasting Trios now available! Including a Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and a delicious red blend called Detour. These are 187ML splits which provide enough wine for 4 people to taste. At $49 delivered to your door, this makes a great Corporate or Holiday gift. Supplies are limited.
Covington Cellars – Free local delivery or shipping on orders over $150
Patterson Cellars – Free shipping on Cyber Monday!
Two Vintners – Free local delivery or shipping 6 + bottles
Thank you for considering supporting our local small businesses for all of your holiday shopping needs!
Meanwhile, we here at Barrel Wine Tours plan to enjoy our quiet holiday season and will look with hope towards 2021. Please keep us in mind for your Corporate Holiday giving – Gift Certificates for private wine tours for 4 or more people make great gifts and shows your faith that 2021 will be a much brighter year! Oh, and Gift Certificates from us never expire so no matter how long it takes us to get back to ‘normal’, we’ll be here for you, just like we have been for the last 12 years.
Lastly, having a smaller crowd for your holiday dinners mean you can take time to pair your wine with your food (something you can’t do at a potluck!) See there? More silver linings. Below please find some general guidance for pairing wine with popular holdiay fare.
Holiday Wine Pairing Basics
Turkey – Rose’
Beef – Cabernet Sauvignon also Cabernet Franc
Lamb – Zinfandel
Pork – depending on depth of flavor, anything from a Merlot to a Syrah
And most importantly, remember, if it grows together, it goes together!
Happy Holidays Everyone!
Cheers
